My idea for making games is loosely based on some concepts from The Manual by the KLF. Unfortunately, I’m not on welfare yet, and full-time employment is getting in the way.
Instead of making games, I read in some forums that some Godot developers are using Fedora Linux. So, I decided to install Fedora 41 on my old Dell, which my ROG Zephyrus replaced.

The installation was relatively easy. I wiped out Windows entirely on this machine.
The official Fedora logo appears under the Dell logo on boot, which I thought was pretty cool. The last time I used Linux as a desktop was with Ubuntu, between versions 10.04 and 18.04. Back then, booting up meant thousands of lines of matrix code flying by.
The Software Center had BIOS updates for my machine, which I found surprising since they hadn’t shown up under Windows. Is Dell better supported by free software than their own bloat? I guess I should stop being surprised.
Godot worked seamlessly, and this procrastination has rekindled my excitement for game creation. I still haven’t made any games yet, but at least my blog is updated. Can’t wait to see where this thrilling journey of doing everything but making games takes me next.
